“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” Proverbs 11:14
In the 10 months that I have been the Appointed Assessor I have used my decades of
management and administrative experience to build a strong management team of experienced appraising professionals who are dedicated to improving the daily activities of the office and it's relationship with the public it serves.
“The Lord detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him”. Proverbs 20:23
I believe the fair and equitable application of assessment methods throughout the county is not only a statutory duty but a fundamental principle of professional conduct. Although it is not the duty of the Assessor to calculate and levy taxes, the assessment values assigned by the Assessor are a large factor in determining tax liability. Property owners are owed courteous and professional consideration of their concerns and the confidence that their property is being assessed fairly.
